By posting any lost or stolen property on the Stolen-Property website, your police report doesn't just get stuck in just one district. The entire world knows about it instantly - a world of difference in increasing your chance recovering of stolen property.
All merchandise has the same three identifying characteristics; Manufacturer, Make / Model and Serial Number or vehicle identification number (VIN). If you have a piece of property lost or stolen and you do not have this essential identifying information, the authorities are very limited as to what they can do. By creating a List Of Property, you have all the essential information about your belongings including photos and receipts backed up in one place. THIS LIST IS PRIVATE, ONLY TO BE SEEN BY YOU.
An insurance company can SEARCH and quickly access all your property information for an insurance claim in one stop. This greatly eases insurance claims and reduces the time to recieve compensation.
If you do have to make an insurance claim and do not have serial number or vehicle identification number (VIN) and / or photos and receipts, it limits what the insurance company is liable to pay and can result in no compensation what so ever. This is why it is so important to start your property LIST today. If there ever is an unfortunate event where this physical documentation is lost, it's all backed up here, ready to POST with just one click of the mouse.
The difference between a LISTING and POSTING. Top
A LISTING is private, only you can view when your LISTING(s) when logged in. A LISTING has vital information about your personal property, including serial number or vehicle identification number (VIN), manufacturer, photos and reciepts. Having this information is essential for police reports and can be the difference of a declined insurance claim or getting paid!
A POSTING is public, to be reported as stolen property on the Stolen-Property website, or as a list of property on List-Of-Property.com for an insurance claim. In a tragic event such as a fire, all property and proof there-of can be lost, resulting in no payment for these items on an insurance claim.
How do I create an account / register? Top
Creating a user account for the Stolen-Property website is easy. Simply enter your information in the register form on the Register page and click "Register." Next, open your email account, then open the email from the Stolen-property website and click the provided link to verify your email. That's it!
By creating an account on the Stolen-Property website you simultaneously create an account on the List-Of-Property website. The vice versa also applies.
After completing the registration form and clicking "Register", an email will be sent to the account specified with a link to keep out our friendly neighborhood robots. Clicking this link directs you back to the Stolen-Property website or List-Of-Property website (depending on which website you registered) and your account is active.
What if I didn't receive the email verification? Top
First, please check your JUNK-MAIL, SPAM FOLDER or OTHER FILTERS. We have very little control over how your email service sorts our messages. After checking these, if you are certain that you have not received this message, please follow these instructions.
- Attempt to log in to the Stolen-Property or List-Of-Property website. This should result in another activation email being sent out. Click the activation link in the email to activate your account.
- If you still do not receive this message, please send us an email with the subject line of "ACTIVATION" to activation@stolen-property.com.You must use the email address you specified when signing up for a Stolen-Property or List-Of-Property website account. If the message is sent from another email address, we will not be able to activate your account.
Once an account has been created and email verified, you're ready to log in at anytime. Simply click "Log In" at the top of the page, enter your Email and Password then click the "Log In" button.
Why does "Remember Me" only remember my Email and not my Password? Top
Due to the sensitive information that is stored for your account, your password is always required. This way if someone other than yourself is using you computer they may not access your account.
Once you have successfully registered and logged in to your account, the "Log In" link at the top right of the page changes to "Log Out." Click this "Log Out" link and you are logged out of both websites.
How safe are my LISTINGS. Top
We take security and your privacy very seriously. We constantly moniter of attempted website access with limited IP address administrative website access. The data base is encripted and secured by the most secure measures possible, keeping your private information private.
Why does the website(s) log me out after an hour of inactivity? Top
Due to the sensitive information stored for your account, it will automatically log out / end session after an hour of inactivity / leaving the website. Upon returning to the website(s), the password will again be required.
How do I edit account settings / preferences? Top
Once you've created your account, verified your email and logged in, you may wish to modify your account settings. In order to EDIT ACCOUNT SETTINGS, simply LOG-IN and on the HOME PAGE LISTINGS TABLE there is a button labeled Account Settings. Click this button and you can edit your settings for your preferences. Once you have made your setting preferences, click SAVE to save changes (the form fields will now display your new account settings), RESET to reset input fields back to previous non-saved settings or CANCEL to keep settings as they are and exit ACCOUNT SETTINGS (clicking cancel keeps the last saved settings preferences).
How do I create a New Listing? Top
Once you've created your account, verified your email and logged in, there are two ways to upload a new piece of property:
- Click the NEW LISTING tab. choose a category and item then fill in the information fields (Make, Model and Serial / VIN number required for search on Stolen-Property.com). The more information you fill in the better for quicker search results.
- On the HOME page LISTINGS TABLE click the NEW button. choose a category and item then fill in the information fields (Make, Model and Serial / VIN number required for search on Stolen-Property.com). The more information you fill in the better for quicker search results.
Entering all information relating to the item (Make, Model and Serial / VIN number required for search on Stolen-Property.com) including optional uploading proof of purchase (receipt) and/or photos. To post click the check box next to the text "Stolen-Property.com" and/or "List-Of-Property.com" and click FINISH. That's it!
You will now be directed to your HOME page displaying your listings.
Why does the tab read "New Listing" instead of "Report?" Top
Upon uploading information to the Stolen-Property website or List-Of-Property website, it is added as an item on a private information LIST with the option to POST as public.

How to view your Listing(s). Top
Once you have created a new listing you may view the listing by:
- Clicking the listing title in the LISTING TABLE on the HOME page. After clicking the listing, you will view the listing as it appears when searched on the database;
- THIS ONLY APPLIES IF LISTING IS POSTED ON Stolen-Property.com - navigating to the SEARCH page of Stolen-Property.com and entering the Make, Model and Serial Number then clicking the Search button;
- THIS ONLY APPLIES IF LISTING IS POSTED ON List-Of-Property.com - navigating to the SEARCH page on List-Of-Property.com and entering your USERNAME then clicking the listing title
How to edit a Listing. Top
Editing a listing is a very easy process:
- Navigate to the HOME page.
- In the listing table click a SELECT check box next to the listing you want EDIT.
- Make whatever necessary changes in the input fields.
- Click save and your changes are now updated and you are returned to "view" mode. To make further changes, click the EDIT button at the bottom of the LISTING and you are returned to "edit" mode.
Another way to edit listings is to navigate to the LISTING TABLE on the HOME page, click the listing title for "view" mode. Navigate to the bottom of the listing and click the EDIT button entering "edit" mode. At this point follow steps 3 and 4 above.
How to post a Listing. Top
Posting a LISTING is very simple:
- Click the check box next to "Post on Stolen-Property.com" and/or "Post on List-Of-Property.com" while creating a LISTING.
- Navigate to the MYACCOUNT page and click the check box in the column for "Post on Stolen-Property.com" and/or "Post on List-Of-Property.com."
- Navigate to the MYACCOUNT page, select an item by clicking the check box next to the title, click EDIT then click the check box next to "Post on Stolen-Property.com" and/or "Post on List-Of-Property.com" while creating a LISTING.
How do I remove a Posting? Top
Removing a POSTING is very simple:
- Navigate to the MYACCOUNT page and un-select the check box in the column for "Post on Stolen-Property.com" and/or "Post on List-Of-Property.com" for the item you want to UN-POST, this removes it from public view immediately.
- Navigate to the MYACCOUNT page, select an item by clicking the check box next to the title, click EDIT then un-select the check box next to "Post on Stolen-Property.com" and/or "Post on List-Of-Property.com," this removes it from public view immediately.
How do I search for stolen property? Top
To search for stolen property, navigate to the SEARCH page on stolen-property.com, enter the Manufacturer, Make / Model, and Serial/VIN number. If the item has been reported stolen, the information will be displayed.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN SOLICITED WITH STOLEN PROPERTY, REPORT IT IMEDIATELY TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. Many times there are rewards for aiding the recovery of stolen property - not to mention good karma and doing the right thing feels good!
How do I report stolen property? Top
Reporting something stolen is easy!
- Register and Login to the stolen-property website. Top
- Navigate to the NEW LISTING page.
- Select the Category and Item of which you are reporting.
- Fill in the information regarding the item including the option for photos.
- Click the check box next to "Post on Stolen-Property.com."
- Click finish.
That's it! By reporting it stolen on our international data base, you notified the world and increased your chance of recovering your property a million times over.
STOLEN-PROPERTY.COM IS NOT AN OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT, NOR IS IT A VALID SUBSTITUTE OR ALTERNATIVE TO AN OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT. It is always important to first file a police report with your local law enforcement agency then utilize our web site as your international source for reporting. For most insurance claims, you must have an official police report to receive compensation.
How to return to the index page. Top
You can return to the index page at any time by clicking the title at the top left of the page. This way if you want to watch the site introduction video or read some latest news it's easy to return.
Why does the index page video play every time I return to the site(s)? Top
The flash player on the index page of the web site(s) reads cookies. If you delete or disable your cookies, our site thinks you are a first time visitor and plays the video. Once you are a repeat visitor, have registered or logged in, the video will not be playing, though there will be a "Play Video" button if you would like to watch the video.
How do I delete my account? Top
We are sad to see you go, but if you no longer want to have an account:
- Login to either Stolen-Property.com or List-Of-Property.com
- Navigate to the MY ACCOUNT page.
- Click the ACCOUNT SETTINGS button on the top right side of the page.
- Click the DELETE ACCOUNT link below the account settings table.
- Click "YES" when asked if you want to delete your account.
- Click "OK" in the javascript confirm to verify you do indeed want to delete your account.
